15 March

Mid-March in Chepstow

The wind is still cold, but the young leaves take us by surprise. First, they open in the hedges and then on the ash and the oak trees.

‘Thank goodness spring has come to us’ say the young people.

‘Thank goodness we have come to spring’ say the old.

From the comic strip, ‘Mafalda‘, by Quino.
